Provision of Fire/smoke detection system in AC EMU rakes in Mumbai suburban.

Fire Suppression System and water mist type fire extinguisher similar to those fitted in LHB Pantry Cars should be fitted in the ICF Pantry car.
Vigilance Control Device (VCD) may be provided in the Memu/AC EMU to enhance safety in case of any untoward incident.
Voice logger may be provided for Emergency Talk Back Unit and for communication between driver and guard with provision of voice recording in emu/AC EMU .
Comprehensive fire load study, based on all the components of the coach as whole, for all type of coaches should be carried out and material specification should be fixed accordingly.

Compulsory Air-Conditioning of all coaches in semi-high speed trains to prevent ingress of dust and noise in passenger area.
Automatic Door closure in high speed coaches.

- System of emergency evacuation of passengers in case of accidents, shall be available for passengers.
- Provision of automatic opening of door in emergency situation like fire in train.
- Fire survival cable should be used for controlling door operation from cab.
- Detrain/entrain through emergency footsteps is not convenient. Also main grab handle should be placed outside similar to Rajdhani trains.
